In one of the rainiest seasons on record, there have been 147 days of rain in Portland since October 1, 2016. We can all attest to the dampened mood prolonged rain can bring but, it’s that very rain that we can thank for the lush greenery and vibrant flowers of a Pacific Northwest Spring.
In April, when the tulips begin to show their buds, I know this means that Winter has loosened it’s grips and it will be only a few short weeks until sunnier days arrive. This also means it’s time to head out for a visit to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm with my family. We spend a few hours among the vibrant burst of colors and come away with smiles for days.
If a walk among flowers is not in the cards, a floral bath & facial mask can certainly act as an alternate. Flower therapy is a truly effective Winter antidote.
As we look forward to the return of warmer weather & sunshine, Spring is the perfect time to take survey of cold & gray sentiments, and find ways to release them. May Spring melt your Winter blues away.
