We work with a lot of great suppliers, models and creatives. They are always inspiring so we wanted to share a bit more from them now that we have a blog.

Model Aaron Grimes is one of the faces you might see on our instagram or emails. We spoke with Aaron recently here are the deets... 

Blendily Team: Welcome Aaron. Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

My name is Aaron Grimes, I am a 27 year old artist currently residing in Portland. I feel passion for many things such as literature, food, health, philosophy, but the thing that lives closest to my heart is music.

Blendily Team: What does beauty mean to you?

Aaron: Of course I believe the classic cliches “beauty is in the eye of the beholder”, “it’s what’s on the inside that counts”. However it can’t be denied that in this time, the idea of “self image” has become a much more looming responsibility. Through social media we are constantly shown images that are meant to exemplify beauty, and to me that’s all they become, an images. A round hole to fit a round peg. And if you are a square peg, well then that’s just too bad.

In my own opinion, I don’t believe beauty is something you are in an absolute sense. I believe beauty to be an action, and a process, it’s a thing that you do.

Beauty is knowing what you have, and using what you have in a way that is exceptional. By these conditions I believe anyone and anything can be beautiful, no matter what it is.

You can hammer a nail in a beautiful way, you can walk down that street in a beautiful way. You can play loud, noisy, dissonant music that holds great beauty. There is no exact “how to” guide to beauty, which to me, is how it should be. It’s not a place that you arrive but a direction in which you head towards.
